Meet Jenny DeSantis, LCSW, CASAC, LCADC
Licensed Therapist | Compassionate Guide | Partner in Healing
Hi, I’m Jenny DeSantis—a licensed therapist in New York with over 20 years of experience in the field of social work. I provide individual and couples therapy via telehealth to adults navigating life’s challenges, both big and small.
The Power of Connection
Therapy starts with trust—and trust starts with connection.
The most important part of choosing a therapist isn’t the credentials or the fancy theories—it’s the connection. You deserve to work with someone who gets you, who shows up as a real person, and who makes you feel safe enough to say the things you’ve never said out loud.
I believe that real healing begins when two people connect with honesty, trust, and compassion. I show up beside you, fully present, to walk through the hard stuff together. I am a human before I am a therapist—and I bring my full self into each session: mind, body, and soul. This is a space where you can lay it all down. The deep fears. The quiet shame. The skeletons you’ve stuffed in the closet. Together, we’ll pull them out and work through them—at your pace, in your time.
I truly love the work I do. Every session is an opportunity to connect, to listen, and to understand the unique story that has shaped you—your challenges, your resilience, and your hopes for the future.
I work with adults facing a range of challenges, including:
Anxiety and chronic worry
Depression and low mood
Childhood trauma
Emotionally unavailable parents
Life changes and transitions
Self-esteem and confidence issues
People-pleasing tendencies and difficulty setting boundaries
Relationship conflict and communication struggles
Gambling, Alcohol, and Substance Abuse
How I Support You: My Therapeutic Approach
Real Talk. Real Tools. Real Change.
There’s no one-size-fits-all in therapy—because no two people are the same. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities to meet you where you are and tailor our work to what feels most supportive for you. Some of the approaches I integrate into sessions include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Helping you identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns that affect how you feel and act.
Motivational Interviewing (MI): A collaborative, nonjudgmental style that supports your readiness for change, especially helpful for substance use and life transitions.
Psychodynamic Therapy: Exploring how past experiences and early relationships may shape current patterns.
Mindfulness-Based Techniques: Bringing attention to the present moment to reduce anxiety, increase self-awareness, and regulate emotions.
Strengths-Based Therapy: Focusing on your inherent strengths to build resilience and foster growth.
Supportive Therapy: Offering a compassionate space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported—without judgment.
